From the launch of the AAdvantage® program in 1981, loyalty programs have been a core element of most retailer's strategies, especially in travel and entertainment. Taken together, there are hundreds of millions of customer interaction opportunities each year that can be executed more efficiently and with lower cost in thousands of locations using the Apunix appliance.
Rip Griffin Travel Centers contracted with Apunix to develop a self-service kiosk-based loyalty system. In a 14-month period:
- Over one-third of all new loyalty accounts were generated through the kiosks
- Full-service restaurant tickets increased by 10%
- Total costs (hardware, software, admin, etc.) were less than $2 per name registered, compared to an industry average of > $10 per name registered
